It seems one of the most notable brands in television history will be graced by the presence of a reigning Ultimate Fighting Champion soon.

In a news bit from the latest installment of Ariel Helwani’s Helwani Nose Substack page, the veteran MMA journalist dropped a very surprising nugget of information regarding an acting guest spot for current UFC bantamweight king Aljamain Sterling on Law & Order. And how the 32-year-old is very much hoping it leads to more acting work in the future.

Aljamain Sterling on Law & Order is not something you expected to read today

“UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling is working on a few scenes for an upcoming episode of Law & Order. Nothing huge, he tells me, but he hopes it will lead to bigger roles,” Helwani wrote.

The post does not specify which Law & Order series the New Yorker will appear on since there are several ongoing shows under the popular crime drama brand currently. The original Law & Order series ran for 20 years on NBC and would go down as one of the longest-running episodic shows in television history. Including all the various series in the franchise, nearly 1,200 episodes under the Law & Order brand have aired since 1990.

No doubt the news will be met with some backhanded comments about Sterling’s “acting” skills after the new champion earned his title in March via disqualification when an illegal knee from former champion Petr Yan ended the bout he seemed to be en route to winning in the fourth round.

Sterling and Yan are set to have their rematch for the bantamweight crown at UFC 267 on October 30, on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
