Bellator 264 pre-event facts: John Salter brings strong stats to Gegard Mousasi title bout

Bellator action resumes on Friday with Bellator 264, which takes place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., with a main card that airs on Showtime following prelims on MMA Junkie.

A middleweight championship fight headlines the lineup, with champion Gegard Mousasi (47-7-2 MMA, 5-1 BMMA) finally set to return to competition against a challenger he’s been expecting to face for quite some time in John Salter (18-4 MMA, 8-1 BMMA).

Gegard Mousasi vs. John Salter

Mousasi is the only two-time middleweight champion in Bellator history.

Mousasi has earned 37 of his 46 career victories by stoppage. He’s earned 32 of those wins in Round 1.

John Salter

Salter competes in his 10th Bellator middleweight bout, tied with Rafael Carvalho for second most in divisional history behind Alexander Shlemenko (17).

Salter has earned 17 of his 18 career victories by stoppage. That includes seven of his eight Bellator wins.

Koreshkov’s 13 victories in Bellator welterweight competition are tied with Douglas Lima for most in divisional history.

Koreshkov’s seven stoppage victories in Bellator welterweight competition are third most in divisional history behind Lima (nine) and Michael Page (eight).

Raufeon Stots’ (16-1 MMA, 4-0 BMMA) four-fight Bellator winning streak at bantamweight is the longest active steak in the division.

Stots has earned three of his four Bellator victories by decision.

Davion Franklin vs. Everett Cummings

Everett Cummings (15-0 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) returns to Bellator for a third stint. He most recently competed for the promotion in January 2018.

Cummings has earned all 15 of his career victories by stoppage. He’s finished 12 of those wins in Round 1.

Pam Sorenson vs. Roberta Samad

Roberta Samad (5-1 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) competes in just her second fight since November 2015.
