Cheyanne Buys did not need a lot of time at UFC Vegas 33 to bounce back from her UFC debut loss in March.

Just fifty-second into the round, Buys, 26, landed a head kick on opponent Gloria de Paula that floored the Brazilian instantly. Despite that, the referee gave “Glorinha” a chance to recover and fight back, but she didn’t get the chance to do so. As Buys pounced and landed some crushing ground-and-pound shots to force the stoppage at 4:00 in the first round.
The victory was the fourth-fastest finish in UFC strawweight history. Buys has now won five of her last six fights.
De Paula, a fellow DWCS alum, has now lost consecutive fights for the first time in her career and is winless after two bouts in the Octagon.
